The role of the obstetrician-gynecologist is to safeguard women's reproductive health. This covers gynecological follow-up, pregnancy management, childbirth, and the treatment of gynecological conditions. The gynecologist's role in couple infertility is to identify and treat the underlying causes of the difficulty in conceiving. This involves diagnostic tests such as hormone analyses, ultrasounds and other relevant examinations. Depending on the results, the gynecologist may recommend treatments such as ovulation-stimulating medication, surgery, or refer the couple to medically assisted reproduction (MAR) techniques such as IVF. The goal is to optimize the chances of conception and to guide the couple throughout their fertility journey.
